I love me some turtles. This top just makes me happy. You know what else makes me happy? Cocktails. Which is exactly the reason why I would wear an outfit like this. Combining two of my favorite things is the perfect formula for a stylish great time.

Hello!
So today a great thing is happening, our friends arrive today from San Diego!!! Are you noticing the overuse of exclamation marks? That’s because I want you to feel how excited I am. 🙂
As I mentioned previously, we have a whole agenda planned for their stay in Buffalo, and one of the fun things we are doing is heading to see a Bisons game on Friday night. We then are planning on taking them to one of our favorite neighborhood haunts for some good old-fashioned Buffalo chicken wings. Because it’s Buffalo, obvi, and how do you NOT have chicken wings while here?!
So I wanted my outfit to be cute and stylish but also give me some room to power down all the food I will be shoveling into my mouth during the game and after. This flowy top and my new comfy jeans from Madewell fit the bill. The only thing that may change is my shoes cause I know that we will be doing a lot of walking…to the concession stand to the OTHER concession stand…to the bar… You get the point. 😉

Hi Friends!
So one of the best early birthday gifts I am getting this year is that one of our favorite couples from San Diego are coming to visit us later this week. The hubs and I are so excited to be able to do some hosting and entertaining. Although we have started to make our lives here in Buffalo (yes, I know it HAS been almost a year), it just hasn’t felt the same. The usual suspects who have been a part of our lives for so long aren’t around and so it hasn’t really felt completely like home for us. The next few months will hopefully change that as we start to host more people from CA to our new neck of the woods.
Of course, living in Buffalo one of the main requests is that we go to Niagara Falls-something that the hubs and I have failed to do since our arrival here. So we are planning our touristy trek to one of the natural wonders of the world later this week, and of course, I wouldn’t be a good fashionista if I didn’t already have a plan as to what I’m wearing. Since its been warm and we are planning on doing dinner while up in Canada, I decided my casual yet stylish pleated skirt was a must. My cream tank and denim jacket (for when the sun goes down) are the perfect toppers to take me sightseeing and back.
It’s going to be a good week-I can feel it.

Happy Tuesday!
It’s officially the lazy days of summer for me. You know, the days that you have to force yourself to do anything? I have discovered that these are completely different from the “holy hell it’s too f’in freezing to do anything” forced lazy days of winter as in these instances the warm weather just makes you long to sit on the patio, have a glass of wine, and just appreciate the sun. Since I rather sit on the patio or at a coffee shop with a cool drink, Â I haven’t had a lot of blog inspiration. Honestly, its just about sundresses when I’m not at work, and since I don’t have a lot of sundresses, I’m in constant repeat. Good for my bank account, bad for my blog.
Nevertheless, I scored these AMAZING jeans while at Madewell last Friday. They fit well and are so comfortable. Perfect for mostly year-round wear. Today was so humid the thought of jeans was painful, but make no mistake, I would take 100 of these days over what they call “winter” around here.
Hope everyone is recovering from their Fourth of July activities!
