Hi friends!

I think this has been my repeated refrain over the past few weeks, but things have been crazy, and our traveling has completely thrown my blog schedule out of whack. So I’m sorry if you’ve been anxiously awaiting my regularly scheduled blogging-we’re back in Buffalo now and that means back to business!

I have been getting a lot of questions from friends and family regarding rompers for adults. And yes, I’ll admit-when they first came on the scene with jumpsuits, I said an automatic “NO” to even the idea. We’re not in grade school anymore. We’re grown adults-shouldn’t we look the part?! But, as I mentioned before, it’s a woman’s prerogative to change her mind, and so I have. Within reason. I still tread carefully when looking at rompers but I took a chance and found one at my ever-faithful Anthropologie during their tag sale. So here I am-romping around. Now where’s my juice box and mat for nap time?!

Happy Monday!

I know that I have been sporadic with the blog posts so I apologize! There’s just been so much going on. This is our final few days in California. We started in San Diego and are now staying with my sister-in-law outside of San Francisco. I’m so excited to go and explore the city and maybe do a little shopping with my husband. It’s one of his favorite things to do. 😉

We have had parties on each of the weekends that we have been out west so when I was planning what to pack, I knew that I only wanted to try for one dress that could be versatile for both events-plus being on vacation I wanted something that wouldn’t deny me my vacation food pleasures! I saw this number at Anthropologie on their sale rack and it fit exactly what I had in mind. I added the white blazer to give it a little bit of structure and my heels, which in light of how much standing I did, only lasted a few hours before I switched to flats. Either way, I felt fabulous and received multiple compliments, which made the parties even better. 🙂

Happy Hump Day!

I’ll admit it-I’m way more of a skirt/dress girl, than I am a pants girl. Except for a brief kindergarten rebellion where the thought of wearing something other than pants would send me into a tizzy (sorry, Mom!), if I’m able to wear a dress or skirt, then yes, it’s a sure thing. This outfit is easily going to be on repeat during the Spring. The dress is nice and lightweight and with the blazer, perfect for strolling around the hood. And yes, as you may have noticed, I’ve been wearing flats the past few outfits. Why? Because the weather is becoming nice again and after having to drive everywhere during the winter in order to not freeze, I fully intend on walking and spending as much time outdoors as I can, as long as I can.

The outfit itself is simple enough, but the accessories, oh the accessories, take the outfit to the next level and makes it shine. I love the way the scarf is a colorful conrast to the navy and white, and I’m absolutely in-love with this bracelet and ring. As I mentioned on Monday’s post, this amazing green tote is a perfect finishing touch to the outfit. Overall, I really feel that this is a perfect demonstration of how accessories really do make a simple outfit into an a colorful, amazing one.

So if you’re in the area, you undoubtedly will see me walking around in this outfit. On repeat.

It’s coming…despite how you feel right now, it’s around the corner. FALL! Despite most of the country still being in the high 80’s, we have less than a month before the end of summer. Schools have started and god knows, stores have been displaying their fall items since the middle of July. So although we move closer and closer to shorter days and pumpkin everything, it does not mean that you have to abruptly stop wearing your summer tried and trues.

One of the greatest myths out there is that you can’t wear white after Labor Day. Rubbish, I say. That’s right, I went a little British with my indignation. You can wear white after Labor Day! Even more so if you live in a warmer climate but either way, the rules have changed. This outfit is a great example of how I am going to transition my white ikat print jeans from Banana Republic to fall. Just by simply adding in a flannel shirt and my gray connies.

Muted, soft colors are big right now and for the fall season. Think blushes, pale pinks, grays-just colors that are really soft and perfect to bring us from Summer to Fall. I scored my gray flannel from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and am already patting myself on the back for this smart buy.
