Hello friends!

In the continuing story of our Aunt and Uncle roles, the hubs and I attended our niece Chloe’s first dance recital yesterday afternoon. Sitting amongst friends and family, it’s crazy to think that we have started this stage of our lives-the ‘childrens events’ stage. Where has the time gone?! I’m not even a parent and yet I find myself saying more and more “Slow down! You’re growing up too fast!” to all the little people in my life. Especially since my husband and I are still trying to grow up ourselves!

So while I ruminated about how time truly is speeding by, I also realized that I had no clue what one actually wore to a dance recital. Could I get away with a tulle skirt as well, as I’ve seen other bloggers wear, or would they think I was part of the show?! So after conferring with Chloe’s mom, my bestie, I decided to play it easy and came up with the outfit that you see here. The blazer was perfect so that I wouldn’t get cold, and the rest of the outfit loose and stylish enough in case I had to tackle a dance mom. And no, I don’t know WHY I would have to tackle her but I just wanted to wear the appropriate thing in case it was necessary. It is the world of dance after all. 😉

Thursday. So close. We’re almost to Friday-just have to act like an adult for a few more days. 😉

One of the most versatile and essential pieces that is required in every closet is a lived in tee. And by “lived in”, I mean looks lived in, not falling apart lived in. I happen to adore the t-shirts by Madewell. I have 3 of the v-neck’s in gray, black, and white. Required basics of the highest order and they are super affordable too. I tend to wear the white one the most so it gets replaced the most frequently, but all of them are on repeat for the warmer months.

So if you haven’t already, find yourself a tee that you love and stock up! Don’t let me see you shirtless!
