Hello again!! I’m so excited to be back after taking the last week off to test out my new schedule. It was crazy but I’m slowly getting back into the swing of working full-time and balancing my own business.
I’m also THRILLED about the weather here in Buffalo. It was 80 degrees this past weekend. 80 FREAKING DEGREES!!!! After the abomination that was last winter, I will never take the warm weather for granted again. I was sweating wearing this outfit, and loving it. We spent so, so many days dealing with frigid temps and trying not to slip on the ice when taking blog pics, to just walk out of the house and be too warm? Blissful.
This is an outfit that I just threw together and will be wearing when the proper Spring temps come back. I love the relaxed yet stylish look and feel of it. A spring weather repeat.

In my mind, it’s Spring.
I know that I had said previously that I was going to brave the winter in order to take all my blog pics outside, but it’s -12 out and the Weather Channel tells me that it feels really like -26, so while I love all my readers, my love for not getting hypothermia is the winner this week.
And of course, as it gets colder and colder, my mind drifts off to a simpler time where I could leave the house without a mandatory 10 layers. A warmer time. Where flowers bloomed and hiking trails beckoned…sigh…Wherefore art thou, Spring?!
So once again in hopes that Spring will hear my frozen call, I’m wearing spring colors to help facilitate the warmth process. I love this outfit for a simple date night or dinner with the girls.

This is how we started the blog pics. Then I just couldn’t hang with the cold.
Happy 2015 Friends!
So today my hubs and I got up early to chase the sun for my blog pics but sadly I’m a wimp and the 14 degree temperature did not warm my heart for unbuttoning my coat so you could see my full outfit. Back indoors we went. In addition to learning that I’m gonna have to toughen up if I want to take better blog pics (more handwarmers needed!), I learned that pretty Banana Republic coats are NOT conducive to the bitter temps. So my heavier parka will be my outerwear choice for the next few months. Sometimes function has to come before fashion. 😉
Moving on, there is something about January that just propels me towards anything blue and yellow. I don’t know what or why, but it has always been that way. So it was unsurprising that for a night out, I gravitated towards my yellow blazer and navy blue silk tie blouse. My Hudson bootcut jeans, gray booties, and a fun clutch rounded out my look.

I’m not going to lie-the last week was a particularly difficult one. So in hopes of turning my frown upside down, I’m focusing on happy colors. And who doesn’t believe that yellow is a happy color?! I scored this jacket at the Banana Republic Outlet this past weekend and wanted to wear it right away. I love the yellow and white tweed pattern with the slightly frayed edges. I’ve paired it with my favorite navy pleated dress and added purple accents for a dash of additional color. Mission accomplished, the clouds have been chased away! This outfit puts a smile on my face and a spring in my step.
