I knew sooner or later I would have to admit it to myself…Fall is here on the East coast. And although the weather seems to be (knock on wood) faring better for us than last year at this time, all the other indicators are there. The desire to obtain all the pumpkins, the leaves changing, the digging out the scarves and heavier sweaters…and maybe a hot cider or two. The biggest thing for me is that I want comfort EVERYTHING. I remember how underprepared we were for the seasons changing on us last year when we first moved-we took for granted the constant warm weather and lack of seasons in San Diego. We WANTED seasons, to feel some briskness in the air. We actively sought it out while trying to drink our PSL’s and pretending that it wasn’t 90 degrees while at the pumpkin patch.
The memory of last year is still very prevalent and so this year, I’ve upped our cold weather game-more coats, rain boots, heavier socks, an arsenal of sweaters for every mood possible, and including the basic necessity of wearing a layering shirt. I’ve fallen back in love with bulkier sweaters, like this one, so I can put more layers on underneath and not completely look 50 lbs heavier….although that could just be from the gravy fries. This girl does love herself some poutine…. 😉
Much love,
Mel
