If you’ve been reading my blog lately, you will see that I’m starting my Fall “nesting”. For many it seems to happen when one is expecting a child, for me-the changing of the weather and saying a drawn out goodbye to my beloved long, warm, and sun-filled days, tends to bring out my desire for comfort EVERYTHING.

My husband shines during the summer when he comes up with new and inventive ways to maximize a hot grill, but once the weather turns cooler, then it’s me in the kitchen making some of my favorite comfort foods. Chicken pot pies, butternut squash soup, lasagna…I guess there is no secret why I’ve always had issues with my weight. 😉

So as a result of trying to find things that are cozy, I happened upon this sweater midi-pencil skirt from Banana Republic during one of their recent sales. I’ll admit-I went back and forth a while. Although I’m still on the hunt for a great sweater dress (if you find one, holla at your girl), I was a little skeptical about a skirt. But I kept thinking about it and finally decided to take the chance while it was on sale.

OMG.

The skirt is amazingly comfortable and blissfully warm. Perfect for our current season of fluctuating temperatures both inside and out. I wore it to work on Friday and was told by a co-worker that although I looked professional, she just wanted to cuddle with me cause the skirt looked like a snuggly blanket. IT IS like a snuggly blanket. I love it not only for that, but because I can dress it up or down depending on the occasion. This is going to be my next going out look and I couldn’t be more excited about it- and the best part, it’s waist is elastic. I can look stylish and still pound down some comfort food. How amazing is that?!

Much love,

Mel
