Happy Monday!
I’ve been a little under the weather for the past week, and as a result, today is my first day back in the office. I’m still not feeling 100% so if you’ve read my previous blog posts, you know that when I’m feeling “meh”, I gravitate towards color to help lift my mood. Today is no exception. I looked into my closet and went directly to my ultimate mood lifter, an emerald green dress that my hubs bought me for my birthday from Piperlime. This dress is everything-a great color, a great fit (Note: I would classify this overall as a structured sheath, but the skirt is a little more A-line which makes the fit flattering on most body types), and it has pockets. Bonus!
The dress is sleeveless and our office tends to be a little more on the chilly side so I grabbed one of my other favorite things, a navy blue blazer from H&M. However it IS in the 70’s outside and since I still don’t feel well, I selected my beige open-toed heels so that I won’t overheat. Gold watch, necklace, and bracelet for accents and that’s all she wrote, folks!
So here it is, my moment of zen 🙂

Beautiful outfit! You look amazing! hope you feel better!
Way cute! I’m always looking for outfits to wear when I lecture – this would be perfect! Love it.
Love it! Any tips on picking a blazer that fits well for a curvy gal?
Hi Theresa! I’ve always been partial to structured blazers for us curvier girls. The trick is to always have a defined shape so you want something that is more fitted and hits at the top of the thigh. You can wear a more boxy blazer, like the one in the post, but make sure that you have something figure defining underneath and/or you belt the blazer to give it shape. Otherwise the blazer (outfit) could work against you and give the appearance of being heavier. Torrid has some great options-there’s a pink one that I love, as well as Asos, Target, Nordstrom. Hope that this helps! Good luck and happy shopping!
Thank you!
